Copenhagen
We awoke to find ourselves in Copenhagen. After breakfast we went ashore to find the open deck buses waiting at the dockside so we didn’t need to take the shuttle bus into the city first. We alighted the bus at the Central Station/Tivoli park stop and wandered around this part of the city. Here in the heart of Copenhagen lies the world’s second-oldest amusement park, Tivoli Gardens. Ever since 1843, Tivoli Gardens has offered a world of amazing experiences. What I could see from the outside there was a white knuckle ride to beat all white knuckle rides, so we didn’t go in. Having exhausted this part if the city we re boarded the bus and drove through this lovely city listening to the commentary and admiring the sites. We arrived at the Little Mermaid which is a must see sight if visiting Copenhagen. With that picture taken we returned to the ship for lunch. After lunch we sat in the sunshine and the AquaDuck kept calling so I had another go. Poor Val would have joined me but she struggles getting in and out of it so reluctantly declined. From the ship I could see the Øresund or Öresund bridge which crosses what is commonly known in English as the Sound, it is a strait which forms the Danish - Swedish border. I had hoped we’d sail under it so to get some decent pictures but alas we didn’t so have to settle for some distant shots. We then changed for dinner which this evening took place in the Animator’s Palate. Having eaten we went forward to the theatre and tonight’s entertainment was Disney’s new film called “The Haunted House”It was really funny. When it was over we made our way back to the cabin ready to turn in.
